BYD Co. is hiring talent from rivals, including Porsche AG, to expand its Denza luxury EV line in Europe. Over 50 staff, including ex-Porsche executive Lorenzo Soravia, have joined its sales and marketing team. Denza launched two models, the €100,000 Z9GT sedan competing with Porsche Taycan and the D9 luxury van. Amid weak EV sales for European brands and rising local competition in China, BYD is increasing European exports to gain a foothold in the contested luxury market.
