China’s industrial profits in January–February surged in select sectors, with computer, communications and electronics manufacturing up twofold year-on-year and nonferrous metals smelting rising 1.5 times, the National Bureau of Statistics said. Chemical products rose 35.9% and non-metal minerals gained 16.2%, while auto manufacturing profits fell 30.2% and oil and gas extraction declined 16.8%.
