Wall Street bonuses hit a record $49.2 billion, with the average rising 6% to
$246,900, according to Thomas DiNapoli, marking a second straight year of highs
driven by strong profits, M&A activity under Donald Trump, and solid trading;
“Wall Street saw strong performance… despite… upheavals,” he said, while warning
of risks from slower job growth and geopolitics, as Jamie Dimon highlighted a
shift in JPMorgan Chase & Co. staffing from Manhattan (35,000 to 26,000) to
Texas (11,000 to 33,000).
