Some analysts say frequent large revisions to U.S. jobs data have left investors
fatigued, helping explain the muted Treasury reaction to today's strong
payrolls. The two-year Treasury yield was near 4.53%, up only a few bps from
pre-release levels. Izaac Brook, RBC U.S. rates strategist, said: "I think this
much-stronger-than-expected jobs report does not add much 'new' information. It
again shows nonfarm payrolls are highly volatile, and overall the labor market
remains healthy — which markets already knew."
