Japan's Financial Services Agency is tightening scrutiny of financing for AI data centers, market sources said.

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing said its on-exchange derivatives clearing houses, Hong Kong Futures Clearing Company Ltd and HKEX Options Clearing Ltd, will accept Chinese government bonds and policy bank bonds held via Bond Connect Northbound, and Ministry of Finance offshore bonds, as eligible non-cash collateral for margin from November 2026, subject to regulatory approval. HKEX said the change will expand use cases for Chinese bonds in Hong Kong, give market participants more flexible collateral management, improve capital efficiency and support the development of the Hong Kong fixed-income and RMB ecosystem.
