Iran's foreign ministry says FM Araghchi briefed his Russian counterpart on the latest progress in Iran-Oman talks and an understanding reached on the Strait of Hormuz.

President Pezeshkian said Iran has signed and approved an understanding framework and remains willing to pursue an agreement with the US. He said Iran will continue to abide by its NPT commitments and would relinquish 60% enriched uranium within international law and the NPT framework. Pezeshkian said the Strait of Hormuz has remained open and accused others of attacking Iran without legal justification. He warned Iran is not the initiator of conflict but will respond firmly if hostilities continue.
