Microsoft (MSFT.O) TOP EXECUTIVE told sales staff this week that enterprise customers who commit to large seat purchases and agree to pay extra for certain feature usage will be eligible for 30%–50% discounts on Copilot AI subscriptions. The discounts could begin as early as October, aligning with a planned roll-out of a redesigned Copilot "super app." The revamped Copilot, expected to launch this week, will consolidate AI coding tools and OpenClaw-style AI agent features into a single application; some features will carry additional usage-based charges.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a Sept. 23 interview that China’s large AI models are overall very strong and that compute-per-unit performance is near the global top. He said he expects China to address its compute shortfall faster than most anticipate, estimating roughly two to three years to close the gap via lithography and chip manufacturing.
