China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology convened the 2026
national forum on industrial and information green low‑carbon development on
Sept. 23 in Yichang, Hubei, and called for accelerating industrial‑sector carbon
peaking during the 15th Five‑Year period (2026–2030). MIIT said the 15th
Five‑Year Plan for industrial green low‑carbon development must be implemented
with a problem‑oriented, reform‑minded approach, strengthening policy,
regulatory and standards frameworks to secure new breakthroughs. Priority
actions include boosting industry green value creation, expanding supply of
green equipment, accelerating green low‑carbon technology innovation, advancing
integrated digital‑green development, and improving industrial resource
recycling, green manufacturing and service systems to support a comprehensive
green transition.
