Sept 23 — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its 2026 Asian Development Outlook (September) said growth among developing economies in Asia and the Pacific has slowed from last year but remains resilient. It raised its 2026 growth forecast to 5.0%, below 2025's 5.5% but marginally above its July projection. ADB cited firm domestic demand, government stimulus and strength in tech-related sectors as supporting activity. The 2027 forecast was unchanged at 5.1%.

Sept 21 — The fifth ministerial meeting since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) entered into force was held in Manila. MOFCOM Vice Minister Yan Dong said rising unilateralism and protectionism and weak global growth had increased uncertainty, and urged members to uphold multilateralism, adopt an open, inclusive approach, accelerate RCEP membership expansion, strengthen the regional cooperation platform, and push for review and upgrade of the agreement to unlock further regional and global growth momentum.
