A Latvian minister said French President Macron has agreed to enter talks with Latvia on joining France's nuclear deterrence initiative.

An internal post seen by Refinitiv shows Meta Platforms is testing a “human concierge” mode for its new AI personal assistant Muse, in which live agents quietly handle some calls placed by the digital assistant. The company briefed employees on the test last week after publicly enabling Muse’s calling feature. Some staff raised privacy concerns, warning sensitive information could be inadvertently disclosed to call‑centre contractors. A Meta spokesperson said most employee feedback has been positive, the test is intended to gather user input to refine safety and privacy measures before wider release, and the company is working with merchants and will only launch the feature when ready with appropriate disclosures.

At a State Council press briefing on the 23rd, the Ministry of Education said China aims for a higher‑education gross enrollment rate of 61.3% and an on‑campus student population of 48.73 million by 2025. The ministry said the country has moved from elite and mass higher education to universal access and will implement a classified evaluation mechanism and differentiated policies to develop distinct functions and pathways across types of universities to better meet diverse economic and social needs.
