At the recent 11th (Autumn) Central SOE Investment and Development Conference, NPC Standing Committee member and vice chair of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Weng Jieming proposed creating technology-focused state capital management companies to monetize high-quality, stable-cash-flow equity held by SOE investors. Dividend income from existing equity holdings would be used to provide funding for early-stage, high-risk investment in emerging industries.

UBS CEO Sergio Ermotti told a Bank of America financials conference that wealth management momentum is strong and trading activity is healthy. He said UBS expects Q3 results to show year-on-year improvement, but growth is likely to be slower than in the same period in 2025 and, due to seasonality, unlikely to match last year’s level. UBS will report Q3 results on Oct. 28.
