Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said at a UN General Assembly press briefing he is ready to enter trilateral talks with Russian President Putin and US President Trump aimed at ending the war. He called his meeting with Trump positive and said they discussed possible de-escalation measures to reopen diplomatic channels, including a potential energy ceasefire under which parties would not strike each other’s energy infrastructure; any Russian signal of engagement would indicate willingness to act. Zelenskiy said he did not receive a specific US commitment on additional interceptor missile systems, though the tone was positive, and he urged Trump to expedite licensing for Ukraine to produce Patriot missile systems.
