Al Arabiya, citing sources, reported a US delegation is in Lebanon discussing creation of a committee to handle security and administrative matters and to implement a plan for Israel to withdraw from 'pilot zones'. Lebanon had said it would only join mediation in Rome if Israel withdrew from two trial areas; it has agreed to attend the Rome meeting on the condition the committee is established.
