Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister Dar spoke by phone with
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal on the 11th to exchange views on rising regional
tensions after the US‑Iran Islamabad memorandum signed in June. Both expressed
concern about continued escalation, said a new round of conflict would undermine
efforts to preserve regional peace and stability, and called for maximum
restraint to allow diplomatic mediation time and space. Faisal outlined Saudi
diplomatic efforts and stressed cooling tensions and sustained dialogue. The two
agreed to remain in close contact and coordinate on the situation.
