Iranian outlet Fars News, citing official sources, said explosions heard in eastern Tehran Province were linked to a controlled detonation of explosives.

The Pentagon on July 10 released 40 UFO-related records — the fourth batch since May at President Trump’s request — including 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio recordings and three images from multiple U.S. agencies (Pentagon, NASA, CIA, FBI, Energy Department). About half the records are from after 2010; several videos were captured by U.S. military infrared sensors. A 32-second 2020 clip provided by U.S. Northern Command, accompanied by a heavily redacted report, shows an object a Navy weapons-systems operator described as dark brown, roughly 12–15 feet (3.7–4.6 m) tall, and “like a somewhat deformed atmospheric balloon”; the operator said they could not confirm its nature and returned to the ship and landed safely.

Iranian academic Hakimeh Saghaye‑Biria said the United States is continuing a long-standing "coercive diplomacy" strategy, offering economic integration as a carrot while sustaining threats of force. She said Iran is trying to break the "carrot-and-stick" dynamic and refuse a bargaining logic that pairs incentives with coercion. She warned the last 25 years of history should not be ignored and said Iranian distrust of the US and international community is commensurate with US claims that Iran is untrustworthy.
