Tesla has issued parts procurement guidance for Optimus, directing suppliers to reach 1,000 units/week capacity by September and 2,000–2,500 units/week by year‑end. Suppliers say Tesla places orders about two months in advance and they have already received specific August orders for several hundred units. On that trajectory, suppliers expect to have capacity to supply parts for roughly 100,000 Optimus units annually by year‑end. Tesla reviewed and approved the latest Optimus design at a late‑June executive meeting, indicating Optimus Gen3 will move from R&D into mass production after more than three years of development.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will test-launch an experimental reusable rocket, the RV-X, on Saturday from its Noshiro Rocket Test Center in Akita prefecture to cut launch costs and respond to SpaceX technology. The flight, originally planned for March, was delayed by bad weather and equipment faults. JAXA has been developing reusable launchers since 2016 and carried out multiple engine burn tests last year; it aims to field a lower-cost reusable rocket in the early 2030s to replace the H3 as its primary launcher.
