Meta unveiled Muse Spark 1.1 with a new paid developer tier—its first time charging businesses for model access—creating a potential new revenue stream. The non-open-source model will be distributed via a Meta Model API with a limited free token allowance; access beyond a token threshold will be paid. Meta says API pricing is roughly 25% of comparable OpenAI and Anthropic quotes. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted marked improvements in agent inference, tool use and coding, and described the API launch and pricing as aggressive to broaden developer adoption.
