OpenAI said it will stop development of its AI browser Atlas on Aug. 9 and will fold some Atlas features into the ChatGPT desktop app and a Chrome extension. The decision comes less than a year after OpenAI launched ChatGPT Atlas in Oct. 2025 and abandons its plan to offer a standalone AI browser to challenge Chrome; competitors including Perplexity (Comet) and The Browser Company (Dia) continue pursuing AI browser products.

July 10 — Novo Nordisk China said the NMPA approved a label update for oral semaglutide tablets (brand: Rybelsus). The drug, approved in China for glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, had its label revised based on the SOUL trial primary results, which showed a 14% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease and/or chronic kidney disease.
