Suppliers say Tesla places orders about two months in advance and they have already received specific August orders for several hundred units. On that trajectory, suppliers expect to have capacity to supply parts for roughly 100,000 Optimus units annually by year‑end. Tesla reviewed and approved the latest Optimus design at a late‑June executive meeting, indicating Optimus Gen3 will move from R&D into mass production after more than three years of development.
