U.S. Vice President Vance warned that if Iran attempts to close the Strait of
Hormuz, the U.S. military will respond. He said the standing arrangement is that
if Iran stops firing on vessels the U.S. will lift its blockade, but if Iran
continues attacks the U.S. will strike back. Vance said Iran can comply or face
what happened last night, and similar actions will continue until Iran reopens
the waterway and ceases attacks on ships.
