Chinese modular building exports have surged, with overseas orders rising
sharply. Trucks loaded with modular housing units at Shenzhen Liantang port are
clearing rapidly for shipment to Southeast Asia and other overseas markets.
Company executives report a marked increase in export orders. China Customs data
show prefabricated building exports rose from $1.472bn in 2015 to $4.339bn in
2025 — roughly triple — and growth reached 45% in Q1 2026.
