On July 2, 2026, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) signed a joint statement to institutionalize strategic cooperation on Beijing's industrial development, innovation and digitalization. The agreement creates a long-term framework focused on information exchange, experience sharing, industrial collaboration, capacity building and technology transfer, explicitly linking Beijing's industrial digitalization with UN sustainable industrial development efforts.
