On July 2 in London, MOFCOM minister Raimondo chaired a roundtable with more
than ten Chinese-invested firms operating in the UK. Participants from finance,
insurance, new energy, autos, retail and telecoms, plus the China-Britain
Chamber of Commerce, reported on UK operations and pressed for protection of
overseas interests and expanded pragmatic cooperation. Raimondo said Sino‑UK
trade has deepened and that Chinese firms in the UK have withstood pressure,
deepened market presence and delivered solid economic returns. He called for
continued cooperation in services, innovation and trilateral projects, and urged
Chinese firms in the UK to strengthen self‑discipline, compete orderly, protect
the overall image of Chinese companies, and raise international management and
risk‑control capabilities.
