Japan's finance minister Katayama said Tokyo will continue close coordination with the United States on foreign-exchange matters during the U.S. holiday.

Southbound Stock Connect net bought 45.38 billion yuan today. Hong Kong Stock Connect via Shanghai: Kingboard Laminates and Tencent Holdings were net bought HK$723m and HK$423m respectively; UBTECH Robotics was the top net seller at HK$551m. Hong Kong Stock Connect via Shenzhen: Xiaomi Group‑W and Kingboard Laminates were net bought HK$492m and HK$181m respectively; Huahong Hongli was the top net seller at HK$1.319bn.

Hana Securities analyst Minkyung Kim says LG Electronics’ Q2 (Apr–Jun) consolidated operating profit could more than double YoY to KRW 1.441 tln, above a KRW 1.040 tln consensus, aided by U.S. tariff refunds and related factors. Kim expects LG to offset higher raw-material and logistics costs via price increases and efficiency measures. Strong results at Apple supplier LG Innotek may further lift the parent’s profit.
