Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) said on July 1 it has warned Apple to correct what it calls discriminatory treatment of Russian search engines on iOS devices sold in Russia. FAS said Apple currently preinstalls only foreign search engines on iPhones, iPads and other iOS devices; users must manually switch to Russian search engines, a practice FAS says may breach Russian competition law. Apple has until July 15 to preinstall a Russian search engine on devices sold in Russia or FAS will open an investigation; a confirmed breach could trigger fines up to 4 billion rubles (about $51m).

U.S. Trade Representative Greer said the USMCA has shifted to "rolling negotiations" and is not currently being renewed; the agreement still has "substantive" issues to resolve, with talks focused on addressing the U.S. trade deficit.
