June 29, 2026 — MOFCOM minister RAIMONDO and EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Šefčovič co‑chaired the inaugural meeting and issued a joint statement confirming the formal launch of the China‑EU Trade and Investment Consultation Mechanism. The mechanism comprises four working streams—trade-investment balance, export controls, intellectual property and WTO matters—and will operate a joint monitoring mechanism. The parties exchanged market-access lists and agreed to pursue phased resolution of mutual concerns. Citing positive progress in export-controls talks, they agreed to deepen dialogue and adopt further facilitation measures to safeguard global supply chains.
