By ownership: state-controlled firms CNY 1.049 tln, +19.6% YoY; joint-stock firms CNY 2.435 tln, +24.1%; foreign and Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan-invested enterprises CNY 0.696 tln, +4.2%; private firms CNY 0.773 tln, +10.7%.

China National Bureau of Statistics industrial chief statistician Yu Weining said Jan–May 2026 profits at industrial enterprises above designated size showed strong support from electronics. Equipment-manufacturing profits rose 14.1% YoY, contributing 5.2 percentage points to overall industrial profit growth. Electronics profits surged 103.9% YoY in Jan–May, accounting for 43.1% of the increase in profits at industrial enterprises above designated size, driven by a global AI-led demand spike for high-end compute chips and storage chips.
