US Energy Secretary Wright said roughly 20 million barrels of oil, carried on about 72 vessels, transited the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours. Asked how much oil had passed after a preliminary US‑Iran agreement to end hostilities, Wright repeated the figures and added that Iran would no longer be able to close the strait, calling that its main leverage and saying the US is taking that leverage away.
