Shenzhen sold a prime residential plot in Bao'an central district with planned gross floor area of 119,500 sq m. The lot carried a starting price of 5.28 bln yuan. After 355 bidding rounds, Poly Developments won the site for 10.51 bln yuan, implying a floor price of 87,924 yuan/sq m and a premium of 99.05%. Other bidders included China Resources Land with China Merchants Shekou, Jianfa and China Overseas.

Combined turnover on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges totaled RMB 3.5943 trillion on June 25, up RMB 309.96 billion from the prior session. Shanghai turnover was RMB 1.6190 trillion (prior RMB 1.5142 trillion), traded volume 670 million lots; Shenzhen turnover was RMB 1.9753 trillion (prior RMB 1.7701 trillion), traded volume 831 million lots. Zhongji Xuchuang led single-stock turnover at RMB 49.655 billion, followed by Xinyisheng RMB 40.588 billion, Zhaoyi Chuangxin RMB 38.433 billion, BOE Technology Group RMB 27.56 billion and Tianfu Communication RMB 25.921 billion.

US initial jobless claims fell 12,000 to 215,000 in the week ended June 20, the Department of Labor said Thursday, below FactSet consensus of 225,000. The four-week moving average rose 750 to 224,250. Continuing claims for the week ended June 13 rose 21,000 to 1.82 million. Despite economic headwinds, layoffs remain at low levels.
