On the 25th, ahead of the 36th National Land Day, the Ministry of Public
Security published four representative cases as part of a nationwide,
problem‑oriented criminal campaign against illegal occupation of agricultural
land. Targets include illegal conversion of cropland and forestland for
construction, sand dredging, mining and dumping of solid waste; building housing
disguised as agricultural facilities or agricultural parks (large 'greenhouse'
housing); unapproved construction, occupying more than approved, and
parcel‑splitting to evade oversight. The ministry said police have timely
cracked a number of related criminal cases. The drive is framed as protecting
national food security and ecological safety.
