David George, partner at Andreessen Horowitz and a SpaceX investor, said
Starship's rapid reusability is critical to Elon Musk's vision of expanding AI
compute via orbital data centers. He said once Starship is operational,
extending AI capacity to space would be inevitable as terrestrial data-center
capacity becomes constrained, describing future satellites as "aircraft-sized
GPU racks." George added orbital data centers would at minimum supplement ground
facilities and could ultimately be economically superior, and that SpaceX has
demonstrated the technical ability to deploy such systems.
