President Trump wrote on social media that he has driven Iran to the brink and
that Tehran was prepared to give the US “almost everything” and show
unprecedented respect for the United States and its president. He said a Senate
War Powers Act vote, held at an inopportune time, signaled US disapproval of his
actions, effectively providing Iran with “aid and comfort.” Trump noted four
Republicans joined Democrats on the measure and said Iran has asked his team
what the vote means; he added the senators have made his job harder but that he
will complete his objectives regardless.
