Thai baht fell to 33.095 per dollar, its weakest level since 20 May 2025.

The Federal Reserve issued a statement on the death of former chair Alan Greenspan, who died at 100 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. The Fed said Greenspan, in an 18‑year tenure, led the central bank through periods of significant expansion and major stress, contributing to sustained price stability, support for economic growth and bolstering public confidence in the institution.

U.S. chip stocks slipped in pre-market trade: Intel (INTC.O) down 7.6%, AMD (AMD.O) down over 6%, Qualcomm (QCOM.O) down 5.4%, TSMC (TSM.N) down more than 4%; Baidu (BIDU.O), Broadcom (AVGO.O) and NVIDIA (NVDA.O) down about 3%.
