On June 22 the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) released a global high‑risk agricultural map, warning a new El Nifio could form within weeks and pose a severe threat to crop and pasture production. Using 41 years of satellite imagery, FAO identified the Sahel, southern Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central America’s dry corridor and the Caribbean as highest‑risk areas, with some cropland and rangeland facing >50% odds of drought in the coming months. FAO said higher baseline global temperatures and widespread conflict and food insecurity will amplify impacts on vulnerable regions.

India's trade minister said he would be extremely pleased if the first batch of agreements under a U.S.-India trade pact could be signed before July 24.
