Multiple foreign outlets reported on the 20th that U.S. Vice President Vance has departed for Switzerland to attend talks with Iranian officials.

Axios reported a U.S. official said U.S. special envoy Witkoff is en route to Switzerland and that Kushner is already there. People familiar said Iran foreign minister Araghchi plans to travel to Switzerland on Saturday but the plan could change. Araghchi told several foreign ministers a Lebanon ceasefire is vital to Iran and decisive for U.S.-Iran talks; Iran wants to see a ceasefire implemented before traveling. The source said negotiations therefore may not begin before Monday, though the timetable remains tentative.
