Russia foreign ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said at a June 18 briefing that
Japan has recently increased military deployments in some areas and repeatedly
issued and revised policy documents to pave the way for further strengthening of
its "defense forces". She said Japan's remilitarization contravenes its postwar
constitutional pacifist clause and will only exacerbate regional tensions.
