Guangdong provincial government issued an implementation plan instructing cities to tailor housing policies to curb incremental supply, reduce inventory and improve housing-supply fit. It also encourages conversion of commercial office stock to accommodation, retail, medical and elderly-care uses, and accelerates urban renewal through old-neighbourhood retrofits, whole-community/future-community builds, original-demolish-rebuild and autonomous upgrades, including promotion of housing-voucher resettlement in new-model urban village projects.
