Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have lifted restrictions on US military use of their bases and airspace, clearing the way for Washington to potentially resume “Project Freedom,” an operation aimed at securing commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The restrictions were imposed after Gulf states raised concerns over Iranian attacks and questioned whether the US would adequately defend regional allies. The operation had been paused after 36 hours following discussions between President Donald T

The operation had been paused after 36 hours following discussions between President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. US officials said commercial vessels could again be escorted through mine-cleared corridors protected by American naval and air assets.
