US-China relations may become more complex if Beijing’s ties with Iran harm US
interests, Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said. While noting stable
relations, he warned against closer China-Iran links amid Middle East tensions.
President Donald Trump has threatened 50% tariffs on countries arming Tehran,
which could disrupt the fragile US-China trade truce. Though China does not
directly supply weapons, it provides dual-use technology. Greer said any harmful
involvement would complicate ties and urged Beijing to address the issue.
