OpenAI is allowing individual investors to access its shares via ETFs from ARK Invest and through a $3 billion private placement with bank clients, ahead of a potential IPO. The move is part of a $122 billion funding round valuing the company at $852 billion, with backing from Amazon, Nvidia, SoftBank and Microsoft. CFO Sarah Friar said the goal is to expand access to the company’s economic upside.
