On the 8th, an IRGC spokesman said reopening the Strait of Hormuz is unrelated to talks with Oman and instead depends on whether the US fully accepts Iran’s conditions and stops interfering in regional negotiations. "Once the US accepts Iran's conditions, the strait will reopen," he said.

Turkey is restricting commercial vessels from entering the Black Sea, sources said, citing a rise in attacks on ships by Russian and Ukrainian forces. The Turkish Coast Guard has told multiple vessels bound for Russia’s Novorossiysk, a major oil and grain export hub, that it will not issue transit permits for such voyages and that Dardanelles transit applications will face extended review. Sources said some ships were told the restriction also applies to voyages to Ukraine. Turkish authorities did not comment. The move could add new complexity to global trade and oil flows already disrupted by the Iran war and reduced traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iraq's oil minister, Bassim Mohammed Hudayyer, said on Aug 8 that closure of the Strait of Hormuz has reduced Iraq's oil exports by about 75%. Iraq is negotiating with Iran for permission to route its exports but coordination is not yet in effect. Before recent US–Israel–Iran clashes, Iraq shipped roughly 3.4 mln b/d via the Strait of Hormuz; flows via the strait have fallen since the outbreak.
