Encasing perovskite material in glass is intended to suppress degradation from rain and wind and could improve durability; the cylindrical form may also increase power generation versus planar modules. The university plans to form an industry–academia consortium in October to advance mass-production techniques, expand applications, run performance evaluations and pursue commercialization.
