[Nomura: Sunny Optical management is more optimistic about the prospects of the automotive lens business
Global automotive lens shipment forecast raised] Nomura published a research report stating that the management of Sunny Optical Technology (02382.HK) expressed more optimism about the prospects of the automotive lens business at the Investor Day. Driven by the rising adoption rate of ADAS in China, the company raised its forecast for global automotive lens shipments this year from 340,000 units to more than 400,000 units. In addition, Sunny Optical aims to increase its market share this year. The company currently has a 3% market share in the automotive camera module market, and its goal is to be among the top three industry companies in the next 3 to 5 years. Sunny Optical expects global smartphone shipments to grow by about 1% year-on-year this year, lower than the previous forecast of 2 to 3%, and expects the growth of the Chinese smartphone market to surpass the global market.
