The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said its Radio
Management Bureau and Norway’s Communications Authority held the second
bilateral satellite network coordination talks in Oslo Sept. 21–23. Under the
ITU Radio Regulations framework the parties negotiated more than 30 items across
multiple high- and low-Earth orbit systems, covering fixed and mobile satellites
services in L, S, C, X, Ku, Ka and Q/V bands. The sides exchanged views, reached
multiple consensuses and signed meeting minutes. MIIT said the outcome promotes
frequency-orbit compatibility and shared use between the two countries’
satellite systems and will help accelerate China’s international frequency
coordination for satellite networks and advance Chinese aerospace projects. The
Chinese delegation included MIIT’s Radio Management Bureau, the National Radio
Spectrum Management Center, Beijing Tracking and Communication Technology
Research Institute, China Satellite Network Group, China Satcom Group, Shanghai
Yuanxin Satellite Technology and Tsinghua University. The Norwegian delegation
included the Norwegian Communications Authority, Space Norway and SpaceX Norway.
