SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics have agreed a planning framework with Jeonnam‑Gwangju authorities for a chip industrial park in South Korea; SK Hynix seeks the largest possible production land allocation while Samsung stresses accelerating investment delivery. The integrated-city plan sits inside a national industrial park totaling 8.26 mln sqm, with about 2.08 mln sqm earmarked for immediate development. Officials plan to sign a move-in agreement with SK Hynix in October and to start detailed talks on investment timing, plant construction and supporting infrastructure; an on-site inspection and senior-level talks with Samsung are scheduled for Oct. 6.
