The International Copper Study Group (ICSG) said in its monthly report the
global refined copper market was short 51,000 tons in July 2026, narrowing
from a 74,000-tonne deficit in June. ICSG said cumulative supply showed a
32,000-tonne surplus for Jan–Jul 2026, versus a 157,000-tonne surplus in the
same period a year earlier. July refined copper production totaled 2.41 mln
tons and consumption 2.46 mln tons.
