Ahead of the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, MOFCOM held a video
conference directing local commerce authorities to bolster supplies of daily
necessities. It instructed key suppliers to strengthen production–sales
coordination, broaden sourcing and raise inventories of fresh produce and
mooncakes, and urged major cities and tourist areas to pre-lock supplies and
prepare transport. In coordination with other departments, authorities released
5,100 tons of central reserve frozen beef and mutton for ethnic minorities
regions to boost holiday meat supply. MOFCOM will implement daily monitoring
during the holiday period to track supply and demand and ensure market
stability.
