MIIT Deputy Minister Yu Xiaohui said at the opening of the 2026 China
International Information and Communications Exhibition on Sept 23 that Beijing
will accelerate AI–ICT integration and anticipate AI's transformative impact on
telecom network architecture. He urged the industry to take an application‑led,
moderately forward‑looking and systemwide approach to next‑generation network
buildout: upgrade broadband toward a dual‑10Gbps architecture, develop
low‑Earth‑orbit (LEO) satellite internet systems, optimize international
submarine and terrestrial network layouts, expand and upgrade computing
capacity, and strengthen compute‑network coordination and interconnection to
support integrated compute‑network infrastructure construction.
