Reserve Bank of Australia officials have stepped up public comments over the
past month to ready markets for a possible rate hike next week, while also
appearing to court support within the board. Governor Michele Bullock reiterated
she has only one vote. Non-executive director Ian Ross said there is no evidence
of a wage-price spiral; his dovish stance could signal a split vote at next
week’s meeting.
