Sept. 22, Guangzhou — At a Greater Bay Area hydrogen pilot city‑cluster meeting,
authorities set targets to deploy 16,000 hydrogen fuel‑cell vehicles during the
pilot and build 100 new hydrogen refueling stations. Guangzhou launched an
initiative urging Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan and other provinces in the cluster to
study policies to exempt qualifying hydrogen vehicles from highway tolls and to
explore cross‑province mutual recognition of toll discounts across five
provinces. The proposal links station sitting to the national zero‑carbon road
transport corridor plan and aims to reduce end‑user hydrogen costs gradually to
below 25 yuan/kg.
